A press release from CMO said that there shall be a deferment of 70 per cent in the gross salaries of the chief minister, ministers, MLAs, chairpersons of corporations and the elected representatives of all local bodies.

It also added that there shall be a deferment of 50 per cent in gross salaries in respect of all India service officers such as IAS, IPS, and IFS. The order will come into force with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, food supplies minister Ranendra Pratap Swain has directed the field officials to immediately start the distribution of Rs 1,000 cash incentives to NFSA and SFSS ration cardholders.
