Watch: Dancers regale patients at Bihar Covid-19 centre, probe ordered

The image of a Covid-19 quarantine centre reminds one of a medical facility lined with beds and people observing all precautions until they are sure they do not have symptoms of the deadly novel coronavirus.

But a video of a Covid quarantine centre in Bihar will shock you. The video, which has now gone viral, shows the residents of the quarantine centre enjoying a performance of hired dancersThe authorities have taken strong exception to the event. “Some dancers, called from outside, performed at a quarantine centre in Karrakh village of Samastipur district last night,” Additional Collector Samastipur Binay Kumar Rai said.

“We’re taking cognizance and action will be taken. We’ve installed TV there, the administration doesn’t permit for any other entertainment from outside,” he said.

India Today TV also spoke to an officer in charge of Coronavirus pandemic in the state, Rajeev Ranjan Sinha. He said that action will be taken against those who organised the event as no such permission has been given by the government.
