Telangana MLA Seethakka, once a Maoist, treks through forests to deliver essentials to advisas in Mulugu

At the time when the country is battling the novel coronavirus pandemic, Congress MLA Seethakka, once a Maosit commander, has emerged as a saviour for adivasis in Mulugu in these difficult times.

Danasari Anasuya, popularly known as Seethakka, who represents a tribal constituency of Telangana, has been trekking through forests to supply ration and other essential items to almost 275 hamlets under Eturunagaram, Tadwai, Mulugu and Govindaraopet mandals of Mulugu constituency.Two-time MLA Seethakka, 48, is familiar with these difficult terrains as she was once a Maoist commander and had remained underground for 11 years. She, however, surrendered in 2004 and then got first elected as an MLA in 2009 and won again in 2018 from Mulugu constituency.

Seethakka’s day now usually starts at 8 am ride as she gets ready with her team as tractors are filled with essentials for those living in interior areas of her constituency.
