Telangana bets big on AI technology to monitor Covid-19 cases in state

Telangana has decided to ramp up its artificial intelligence (AI) technology integration to monitor coronavirus cases in the state.

The state health ministry has collaborated with Hyderabad-based startup Vera healthcare and plans to extensively use technology for not only tracking travellers but also monitoring containment zones.

The healthcare startup will provide monitoring and tackling technology, which is on the Internet of Things (IoT), smart devices, GDP system, Geo-tagging — all through the use of a centralised application, the Covid-19 Monitoring System.

The application has been developed in record time to deal with the pandemic, enable live surveillance, monitoring and tracking.

”The analytics by the app also facilitate assurance to the stakeholders by providing the facts and figures in their fingertips,’’ said Dharma Teja Nukarapu, CEO of Vera healthcare.

The application has also been provided to frontline workers on the ground.

Vera Smart Health has also build iMASQ, which is basically an integrated analysis plus quarantine with AI support to deal with Covid-19 monitoring and quarantine services now and after the lockdown in the state.

It may be noted that the iMASQ Hybrid Healthcare on Wheels is a multipurpose AI unit, which can provide medication stock, swab collection facility, remote consultation, monitoring, tracking results, lab space and an in-house quarantine berth with ventilator facilities.

It will be operated by two on-site government doctors, two Nurses, two pharmacists, four ASHA ANM workers and 2 lab technicians to cover 3,000 10,000 houses within a 3 km radius every day.

Up to 100 virtual doctors will also be ready to take care of any zone’s needs and health workers will only visit if alerted specifically by the iMASQ system.
