Tamil Nadu govt to send pre-symptomatic coronavirus patients in home isolation

Patients with mild symptoms of coronavirus or pre-symptomatic patients will now be sent to home isolation, the Tamil Nadu government said.

The new guideline says:

– the residence should have a well-ventilated room with an attached bathroom.
– 24*7 caregiver who will be a link to communicate with the medical officer.
– caregiver and all close contacts should take HCQ prophylaxis.
– caregiver and patients should take zinc and multivitamin tablets and also Nilavembu and Kabasura kudineer.

When the patient develops signs or symptoms such as persistent fever above 102 degrees, difficulty in breathing, cough, pain or pressure in the chest, seizures, discolouration of lips and face, immediate medical attention should be sought.

On Monday, Tamil Nadu saw the highest number of new coronavirus cases. The state reported 527 new coronavirus cases in a day.
