New Delhi: The number of people in India infected with the highly contagious Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 has risen to 169, the Health Ministry has said. This includes three who have died. A 20-year-old man from Delhi who has tested positive for the coronavirus in Chennai has also raised concerns of community transmission of the disease. There’s no threat, however, of community transmission, a top medical officer has said, citing negative results in random testing of over 800 samples. “Yes, they have tested negative. There is no evidence of community transmission as per these results. Further scale-up is in progress. The control room meeting is underway and there is likely to be an update in sample size soon,” Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) chief Dr Balram Bhargav said.
