The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has demarcated a few areas which have seen cases of the novel coronavirus for containment. Banners saying, This area has been declared as ‘containment’ area as a resident is found positive in coronavirus test. The entry to this area is restricted and violation of rules is punishable. Maintain social distancing. Stay safe. Apart from the BMC poster, another poster by the Mumbai police also states the same about restricting the entry and punishment of those who violated the order.
Goregaon
These banners can be found in the Bimbisar Nagar area of Goregaon East in Mumbai where eight buildings, housing close to 2000 residents, have been declared as contaminated.
One resident was found to be positive on Saturday after which screening of residents and sanitisation of the entire area was done by the BMC. Later. two more relatives of the resident were found to be coronavirus positive. On Monday, posters were put up and police were deployed to make sure that no one from outside enters this zone.
