As the state fights coronavirus, Tamil Nadu government has announces ₹1000 as financial aid for all ration card holders in the state

the Tamil Nadu government has announced that all ration card holders in the state will be given rice, sugar and a relief of Rs 1,000 as the state fights novel coronavirus outbreak.

Rs 1,000 to all ration card holders, free rice, sugar, and other essential commodities. To avoid long queues, commodities will be issued on a token basis, Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K Palaniswami said on Tuesday.
Ration card holders who have not brought their March month’s ration can make the purchase in April, Tamil Nadu CM said.For senior citizens, food will be provided at anganawadis for free of cost, the government has announced. For those who are unable to move will get free food delivered at their door step.

Road side hawkers, auto drivers will be given Rs 1000 extra, the CM said. Auto drivers will also be given 1 kg cooking oil and 1 kg rice.

Migrant labourers will also be provided 1kg cooking oil and 1 kg rice.

Amma canteens will be functioning continuously. Extra cooking places will be arranged for poor people, the CM informed. Collectors have informed that Amma Hotels should operate and also food should be provided to homeless and destitute.

Rs 3,250 crore relief fund has been set aside by the government to help people in the unorganised sector. The CM said two-month ration items can be acquired now after getting token.
