SOME LEADERS PROMOTING ANTI-INDIA VIOLENCE: PM MODI TO TRUMP AUGUST 20, 2019 AAKASH

On Monday, 19th August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump spoke on the phone.

It is being said that the two talked for about 30 minutes. During this time the two leaders discussed bilateral and regional issues.

PM Modi indirectly referring to Pakistan said that some regional leaders are making extreme statements and promoting anti-India violence. And, this is not good for the peace of the region.

In this conversation, PM Modi said – preventing cross-border terrorism and creating an environment free from terror and violence is necessary for the region. He also spoke to Trump on the subject of Afghanistan. He said that India has long been committed to building a united, secure and democratic Afghanistan.

The Prime Minister also referred to a conversation with Trump in Asaka, Japan in June this year. He hoped that the Commerce Ministers of the two countries would meet soon to discuss bilateral trade.

IMRAN TRIED TO KEEP AMERICA IN HIS FAVOR
PM Modi’s interaction with Trump is also important because Imran Khan recently tried to turn America in his favor. Pakistan tried to provoke the matter of Article 370 from Kashmir.

China had taken Article 370 matter to the UN Security Council to support Pakistan. Imran called Trump before the ‘closed-door discussion’ at the council.

However, Trump then blamed Imran’s expectations by calling Kashmir a bilateral matter.

According to the White House, Trump has advised Imran that if Pakistan wants to ease tensions with India on Jammu and Kashmir, it must understand the importance of bilateral talks.

TRUMP SAID – MODI SHOULD DECIDE ON MEDIATION
On July 22nd, Trump claimed in a shared press conference with Imran in Washington that Modi had asked him to mediate on the Kashmir case. However, India rejected Trump’s claim. India had said that they would hold only talks with Pakistan on Kashmir issue.
