Mharashtra’s government on Monday issued a set of guidelines for all air passengers. These guidelines will be applicable for both inbound and outbound air travel.
To begin with, passengers have been advised to download the Arogya Setu App on their mobile phones and furnish the various declarations. This would include declaring whether the passenger resides in any containment zone, whether the passenger is suffering from fever/cough/respiratory distress, and that the traveler agrees to adhere to the various protocols set in place by the Government of Maharashtra.
Nodal Officers
On its part, the state will appoint nodal officers to coordinate the schedule of flights and the list of passengers with airport authorities. These nodal officers will also play an active role in deciding on the timings of the flights and making post-arrival arrangements for passengers.
It will be the responsibility of the airport management and various airlines to ensure that passengers follow the physical distancing norms while boarding and de-boarding flights.
Passengers will also have to submit a self-declaration form after their arrival at any airport in Maharashtra. The concerned nodal officers will ensure that arrangements are in place to screen the passengers and that there is no chaos at the airport.
Only asymptomatic patients allowed to board flights
Only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board flights. Thermal screening of incoming passengers will be done by health officials and those found symptomatic will be taken to the health facilities. Nodal officers will also have to provide PPE kits and thermal guns to healthcare workers deployed at the airport and ensure that there are enough screening counters depending on the strength of the passengers. A list of the passengers and their contact details will be shared with the concerned nodal officer by the airport in advance.
