Terminal 2 (T2) at the Mumbai airport is the only one that has been made operational after nearly two months. On average, 25 landings and 25 take-offs have been allowed every day for domestic flights. Among the many guidelines, passengers have also been asked to reach the airport two hours before departure and maintain social distancing.
India Today TV reached the Mumbai airport to witness how the operations are being conducted while ensuring safety of all the passengers in the time of a pandemic.
At the Mumbai airport, there were earlier three lanes to disembark from the vehicle if one has to catch a flight from T2. Now there are only two. With social distancing and thermal screening and people being unaware of the procedures at the airport entrance, long queues have been seen outside the departure terminal.
The lane nearest to the entrance is also being used to manage long queues. There are markings on the floor across the airport to make social distancing clear and visible for all.
