Cyclone Amphan: PM Modi conducts aerial survey, announces aid of Rs 500 crore to Odisha

Many lives were saved owing to the state’s well-established processes, I congratulate the people and government of Odisha,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during his visit to Bhubaneswar on Friday to review the aftermath of cyclone Amphan.

The Prime Minister was received at the Biju Patnaik International Airport by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and BJP state vice-president Baijyant Panda. Accompanied by the CM and the Governor, PM Modi began with an aerial survey to assess the damage caused by the cyclone.

Following the aerial survey, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting in Bhubaneswar with CM Naveen Patnaik, Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradip Jena, Agriculture Secretary Sourabh Garg, Police DGP Abhay and other senior officials of various other departments. Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Chandra Sarangi were also present during the meeting.
