Over 140 Afghan nationals stranded in Pune were flown back to Kabul in a special flight on Sunday. The flight took off from Pune airport on Sunday afternoon.
The special KAM flight that arrived in Pune with nine Indian nations stranded in Afghanistan. While returning back, the plane carried the 143 Afghans back to their homes.
The 143 included cadets from National Defence Academy (NDA) and Afghan military officers engaged in other courses in Pune.
A thorough medical check was conducted before the passengers’ were allowed to board the plane. Speaking to India Today TV, Pune Airport Director Kuldeep Singh confirmed that the special KAM flight took off at around 3 pm.
Meanwhile, out of the nine Indian nationals who returned from Afghanistan, eight were allowed to go back to their homes while one passenger who showed symptoms was taken for testing as per guidelines.
