In yet another setback for Congress, the party’s Rajya Sabha chief whip Bhubaneshwar Kalita, who resigned on Monday to protest against the party’s stand on scrapping Article 370, is all set to join BJP.
Kalita may join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday.
Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu had accepted Kalita’s resignation from the House on Monday itself.
Minutes after Home Minister Amit Shah moved the resolution to scrap Article 370, the Congress MP resigned from Rajya Sabha over Congress’s stand against the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
