Covid-19 bulletins were not released by state govt for April 2, 3 and 5
The state has a total of 80 confirmed cases, shows official data
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Swapan Dasgupta on Monday questioned the West Bengal government over missing Covid-19 health bulletins on the state government’s online portal.

Fighting coronavirus, a Detroit story that India must read

Dasgupta shared a graphic which had screenshots from the West Bengal Health and Family Welfare Department’s online portal.

The latest Covid-19 bulletin was uploaded on the state ministry’s website on April 4, but it had some differences in format compared to the one released on April 1.As the screenshot uploaded by Dasgupta indicated, there were no health bulletins dated April 2, 3 and 5.

Another anomaly pointed out was the fact that the bulletin from April 1 had information about the number of people who died in the state after testing positive for the virus. However, the latest bulletin from April 4 did not have any section for disclosing information regarding state’s death count.

It remains to be seen whether the state government offers an official clarification on the same.

At present, official data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare shows that West Bengal has a total of 80 confirmed cases, of which 10 have been discharged and three have died.

Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed cases in India has gone up to 4,067 with 292 recoveries and 109 deaths.
