Biggest 1-Day Jump In COVID-19 Cases, Record Number Of Patients Recovered- 10 Points

New Delhi: India reported the biggest single-day jump in the number of new coronavirus patients and deaths linked to the highly infectious illness with 7,964 fresh cases and 265 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, which brings the total to 1,73,763 cases, according to the data shared by Union Health Ministry this morning. The country has logged 4,971 deaths since the pandemic began. More than 80,000 patients have recovered so far. Of these, a record number of 11,264 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. This is the second consecutive day that India – the ninth worst hit country due to the pandemic – has reported over 7,000 cases in a single day and the eighth day when more than 6,000 patients have been logged in 24 hours. The spike comes after restrictions were eased for the fourth phase of lockdown.
