Assam registered 25 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Thursday and the state’s tally crossed the 200 mark.
With the new cases, the state’s tally of Covid-19 cases increased to 210.
Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that out of the 25 new cases, five cases were reported from Sonitpur district while three from Kokrajhar district, two each from Lakhimpur, West Karbi Anglong, Sivasagar, Dhubri and one each from Dibrugarh and Udalguri districts.
On Wednesday, 28 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted saying, “7 persons at Zonal Quarantine Centre at Tezpur Univ test #COVID19 + 5 are from Sonitpur, 2 from Lakhimpur. Total cases 210.”
Meanwhile, six Covid-19 patients were also discharged from hospitals on Thursday.
Four patients were discharged from Silchar Medical College Hospital after they fully recovered while two were discharged from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital in Guwahati.
