At least 9 migrant labourers have died in a truck and bus collision in Bhagalpur in Bihar on Tuesday morning. Several others have been injured in the accident after the truck the labourers were travelling in fell off the road.
The accident took place in in Naugachhia of Bhagalpur. According to ANI, at least 9 labourers have died in the accident. Rescue operation is underway.
In another such accident involving migrant labourers, a bus hit a truck in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal in the early hours of Tuesday. Three migrant labourers and a bus driver were killed and 22 others injured after their bus hit a stationary truck in Yavatmal district.
The accident took place at Kolwan village around 3.30 am when the bus was on way from Solapur to Nagpur railway station where the labourers were supposed to board a Shramik Special train to reach their native places in Jharkhand.
These are among the series of accidents in which many migrant labourers have died over the weeks.
Last week, 26 migrant labourers were killed when two trucks carrying migrant labourers from different states collided in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya.
