Union minister Prakash Javadekar on Saturday said the Congress party’s biggest sorrow is that it has been unable to accept the fact that it is no longer in power.
He said this in response to a question on the Congress’s allegations that the Narendra Modi government is not doing enough to help migrant workers and poor who have been hit hard due to the nationwide lockdown.
Brushing aside the charges, Prakash Javadekar said the Modi government “doesn’t believe in symbolism”. “Our government doesn’t believe in symbolism. We give what is required,” he said.
Prakash Javadekar was speaking at a session at E-Agenda Aaj Tak on Saturday.
Speaking about the fight against Covid-19, he said, “Earmarking hotspots as containment zones has helped the government in controlling the spread of Covid-19 even in states like Maharashtra that has the highest number of Covid-19 cases.”
He said however people will now have to start living with the virus and make adequate changes in their lifestyle, that include washing their hands regularly, maintaining physical distancing among others.
