Coronavirus Live Updates: Second positive case reported from Mumbai’s Dharavi

India faces significantly higher risk from Covid-19 after over 300 cases were reported on Wednesday. It was the largest single-day spike in the number of confirmed cases in India as authorities scramble to contain further spread. The severe spike comes at a time when scores of people, who attended a Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi’s Nizamuddin, have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Authorities are now working round the clock to trace more such infections linked to people who attended the religious event. Several people who attended the event are being traced by authorities in a bid to prevent the rapid spike in confirmed cases. Meanwhile, positive Covid-19 cases in India have crossed 2,000 with over 50 deaths. Globally, too, the picture remains grim. While the US recorded its highest single-day death toll on Wednesday, the UK also recorded over 550 deaths. Follow IndiaToday.in for all the Covid-19 live updates:
